Fotona Twinlight 3D wrinkle reduction and skin renewal treatment

TwinLight™ wrinkle reduction and skin renewal – recommended for wrinkled facial skin

Wrinkle reduction and skin renewal treatments can be performed with the ablative Er:YAG laser as well as with the non-ablative Nd:YAG laser, depending on the exact aesthetic result the patient and the treating doctor wish to achieve. Ablative and non-ablative treatments can be combined into a comprehensive anti-ageing treatment, such as the Fotona TwinLight™ fractional rejuvenation procedure.

Earlier skin resurfacing treatments focused on large areas of facial skin, whether aged or not, so recovery could take as long as 2–3 weeks. Fotona’s TwinLight® fractional rejuvenation procedure, by contrast, precisely targets the specific imperfections and leaves the surrounding healthy skin untouched, which shortens recovery considerably, to 3–7 days. The heat of the laser stimulates new collagen formation in the dermis and speeds up renewal in the healthy skin around the treated area.

The TwinLight® fractional rejuvenation treatment is a simple 4-step procedure designed to improve skin smoothness and give a fresher, healthier look.

Step one – Conditioning

The first step of rejuvenation uses the Nd:YAG laser beam. FRAC3® is a three-dimensional treatment that targets extremely small areas and corrects age-related imperfections in the epidermis and connective tissue, leaving the surrounding healthy tissue intact. This supports faster healing and shorter downtime compared with similar treatments. It helps correct abnormal pigmentation, capillary damage and a loosened collagen structure.

Step two – Tightening

An advanced version of this is the PIANO mode, an even gentler solution. PIANO® is an Nd:YAG tissue-heating laser treatment based on super-long pulse durations (0.3–60 s). Because the thermal relaxation time of the laser wave is long, it acts in the deep layers, leaving the epidermis and blood vessels untouched. It acts directly on the collagen fibres, providing immediate firmness while also stimulating collagen production.

Step three – Fractional treatment with Er:YAG laser

This fractional treatment exfoliates the skin through micro-channels set individually for each patient. At this step our doctor takes full account of the patient’s skin type, skin thickness and sensitivity, as agreed during the personal consultation before the treatment.

Step four – Ultra-fine peel

The Er:YAG laser beam passes over the skin again, providing a gentle peel across the entire surface and giving the face a pearly, radiant glow. Depending on the individual, redness and swelling may be noticeable for an average of 3–5 days after the treatment.

The result: firmer, more toned skin, smaller pores and smoother wrinkles.

The laser beam triggers the body’s self-repair mechanism in the connective tissue layer, so continuous improvement can be expected over around 6 months. The results are long-lasting, and the face can look visibly younger.

The treatment requires no prior preparation or anaesthesia and is almost completely painless. Redness may appear for 1–3 days afterwards and fades without any downtime. The treatment is extremely precise.
