Laser treatment for menopausal urinary incontinence

IncontiLase Intra Twinlight 3D treatment can offer a solution to urinary incontinence caused by oestrogen deficiency during the menopause.

Oestrogen deficiency during the menopause causes the connective tissue surrounding the urethra to relax, the pressure inside the urethra to drop and the internal urethral sphincter to close insufficiently. For these reasons, urinary incontinence may develop in patients who have reached the menopause. To solve this problem, we perform Erbium laser treatment, during which the area is treated – painlessly, of course – with a special laser head only 3 mm thick inserted into the urethra. As a result of the treatment, the vascular network around the urethra is strengthened again, and better blood circulation and oxygen supply regenerate the atrophied tissues. Proper pressure conditions are restored in the urethra, so the treatment can bring improvement in both urethral and sphincter insufficiency. IncontiLase Intra Twinlight 3D can also be combined with the previously used (vaginal) IncontiLase Twinlight 3D treatment (IncontiLase Extra Twinlight 3D). The new 3D treatment can also be added to this combined treatment.
