As a private physician, I care for my patients at the Vitalium Laser Centre, which operates in the Health Centre of Hotel Európa Fit****superior. I have always been interested in how women could be helped to maintain a good quality of life in the long term without conventional surgical procedures. What is urge incontinence?
Urge incontinence is a bladder control problem in which a sudden, hard-to-control urge to urinate occurs, and urine may leak or dribble involuntarily. It is often accompanied by frequent urges to urinate, even at night. In most cases it is caused by an overactive bladder or a disorder of its nerve control, and it can be relieved well with appropriate treatment.
What is stress incontinence?
Stress incontinence is when urine leaks involuntarily in situations involving a sudden increase in abdominal pressure, such as coughing, sneezing, laughing, lifting or exercising. It is most often caused by weakening of the pelvic floor muscles and connective tissue, which can result from childbirth, hormonal changes or ageing.
What is mixed incontinence?
Mixed incontinence means that urge and stress incontinence occur together. In this case the patient may experience both sudden urges to urinate and urine leakage linked to physical strain. Treatment planning is especially important in such cases, as the background of the symptoms is complex and requires a personalised medical approach.

You do not need to travel to Hévíz for the consultation.
Based on a telephone consultation with the doctor, we can accurately assess which treatment is appropriate in your case.
During the consultation with the specialist, we also arrange an appointment for the agreed treatment, so you only need to travel to Hévíz for the treatment itself.
How does the consultation take place?
In most cases the consultation takes place by phone, and it is always conducted directly with the doctor.

In addition to arranging an appointment, the doctor provides information about prices, the course of treatment and any repeat treatments that may be needed, and is happy to answer any questions you may have.

How many sessions do I need?
At our centre we use combined Erbium–Neodymium laser treatment, for which 3 sessions are recommended.
For the laser treatment of urinary incontinence and vaginal problems, the number of sessions is therefore 3.
A break of 4–6 weeks is needed between treatments.
To maintain the results, about 1 refresher treatment per year is recommended.
What feedback have patients given?
Based on positive feedback and the experience of patients who regularly return for refresher treatments, the treatments can be considered successful.
How experienced is the treating physician in this field?
Dr. Péter Regényi is the gynaecological laser specialist of the Vitalium Laser Centre in Hévíz. He started laser treatments in Hévíz in 2015 with the opening of Hungary’s first gynaecological laser centre. He has since treated several thousand patients. In addition to treatments for urinary incontinence, vaginal tightening and vaginal dryness, he has for years also performed laser labiaplasty, which, thanks to the trust of patients, has become one of the main procedures.
Dr. Regényi is a laser specialist for Fotona, and dual laser treatments can now be used not only in facial aesthetics but also for vaginal treatments, with an effect twenty times deeper on the treated area. Thanks to a newly developed in-house adapter, Hévíz was the first in Europe to use this new, considerably more effective procedure, the so-called Intimate Laser 3D treatment, which has since been adopted by professors abroad.
