Glucose is the primary source of energy for our body. Cells can only absorb and utilize glucose circulating in the blood in the presence of insulin. The glucose circulating in the blood – based on a blood test – can indicate a pre-diabetic condition or already developed diabetes. In the absence of regular screening, diabetes is often only diagnosed once it has developed. Diabetes is not curable, but with appropriate medication, diet, and regular exercise, the deterioration of the condition and the development of possible complications can be prevented.
Untreated diabetes can cause severe, irreversible complications, so it is extremely important to regularly check our blood work and promptly consult a specialist with any complaints.

The specialist examination does not require any special preparation.

The process of the specialist examination:

• the specialist maps the patient's diet, eating habits, and lifestyle,
• followed by physical examinations,
• and the review of existing medical records,
• finally, based on the above, the specialist decides on the appropriate therapy and/or the necessity of further examinations.
