Cervical laser ablation treatment

• Ablation treatment of the cervix: 120 000 HUF (recommended number of treatments: 1 treatment)

In this treatment, the epithelium covering the cervix is removed using the Erbium (Er:YAG) laser. One treatment of this type is sufficient. Based on current available international data, the ratio of permanent HPV negativity and/or permanent negative cytological controls is 93.4 %, which is more than excellent.
With local anesthesia, the ambulant treatment is painless.

The indications include the following:

• High-risk HPV positivity
• Cervical dysplasia
• Wound on the cervix

1. Laser treatment of the cervix against HPV

Even in the case of a positive HPV result, you should not despair since the modern laser technology of today offers a possibility of reducing the number of the formation of clinical deviations with a few treatments. Indeed, it is important to know that the HPV virus can mostly be found over the so-called basalt membrane of the cervix epithelium. A 15-minute, ambulant laser treatment can also offer a solution in the case of an HPV infection.

By treating the cervix and the cervical canal with an Er:YAG laser, the surface epithelium is evaporated (laser vaporization), which also destroys the significant majority of all HPV types. During the treatment, the evaporation of the surface epithelium (vaporization) removes all HPV virus types that reproduce in the surface epithelium. In the first step of the treatment, the surface of the cervix is treated, after which the surface epithelium is evaporated using a special, 2 mm-thick laser treatment head starting from the inner cervix. The formation of the new epithelium occurs within a few weeks, and in the newly formed epithelium, the majority of the viruses cannot be detected. Looking at the statistical data, one treatment shows 65 %, two treatments show 76%, and three treatments show 92 % of permanent HPV virus negativity.

The duration of the treatment is short, it takes 15 minutes, the treatment is completely pain-free, a local anesthetic or anesthesia is not required, there is no bleeding; and there is no recovery period. With regular control screenings, the efficiency of the treatment can be controlled, and if needed, the treatment can be repeated. In addition, the renewal of the epithelium is also preventive. The development of cancer takes several years. By vaporizing the cervical epithelium once a year, even in the case of a small number of detectable HPV presence after the treatment, the starting epithelial degeneration cannot worsen.

2. Cervical dysplasia

Cervical dysplasia is a preliminary stage of cervical cancer. In this case, the lining of the uterus that is in contact with the infection must be removed. By knowing the cytological result or biopsy, the condition can be treated with a laser treatment or conization (plastic treatment of the cervix).

3. Treatment of wounds on the cervix

In the case of a wound on the cervix, the main complaints are increased mucus production and bleeding after sexual contact. After the laser treatment, a new epithelial cover forms by the end of the second month, and the previous complaints disappear.
