Acne treatment with Twinlight method

Recommended treatment for inflammation-prone, scarred skin and large pores. The energy of the laser penetrates deep without damaging the surface and exerts its effect on the inflamed sebaceous gland.

Laser treatment of acne

  • 150 000 HUF / treatment (recommended amount of treatment: 1-2 pieces)

The energy of the Nd:YAG laser penetrates deep without damaging the surface and is selectively absorbed in the enlarged, inflamed sebaceous gland. As a result, the gland dies within 1-2 days, and the inflammation ceases.

With fractional and combined laser treatments, the scarred, uneven surface can be transformed into a smooth one.

In some cases - if someone does not want internal drug treatment that is very stressful, or if it cannot be used, e.g. due to pregnancy, childbearing - mild and moderate acne can also be treated with this special light therapy.

Acne

Acne is a common skin condition in which pimples develop on the face and upper body. Acne is a phenomenon resulting from the interaction of hormones, sebum and bacteria, which causes inflammation of the hair follicles. It mostly appears on the face, upper chest, shoulders and back and is characterized by pimples, cysts and sometimes abscesses. Both cysts and abscesses are pus-filled sacs, except that abscesses are slightly larger and deeper. The sebaceous glands, which secrete an oily substance (sebum), are located in the middle layer of the skin, the dermis. These glands are connected to hair follicles. Sebum, together with dead skin cells, breaks out from the sebaceous gland and hair follicle through the pores onto the skin surface.

Acne occurs when dried sebum, detached epidermal cells and bacteria fill the hair follicle together and block the way for the sebum to drain through the pores.

There are two versions:
Black comedo: when the exit passage is blocked and a black mass fills it.
In the case of a white comedo, a membrane forms over the outlet tube of the sebaceous gland, completely covering and sealing it.

If the blockage is not complete, a blackhead (open comedo) is visible, if it is complete, it is white (closed comedo). A blocked, sebum-filled hair follicle promotes the overgrowth of Propionibacterium acnes, which causes visible inflammation. (By the way, this bacterium is also present in the hair follicle in a normal state, in small numbers).

These pathogens cause skin irritation by breaking down the fats in sebum. The resulting inflammation and infection creates skin changes known as acne. If the infection worsens, an abscess may form, which breaks into the skin and causes further inflammation. Acne mainly appears during adolescence, when rising hormone levels - mainly androgens, such as testosterone - result in increased activity of the sebaceous glands.

By the time a person reaches their early twenties, their hormone production stabilizes and acne usually disappears. Other conditions involving hormonal changes can also lead to acne. For example, in young women, they may appear with each menstrual cycle, and may disappear or worsen significantly during pregnancy. Certain medications - primarily corticosteroids and anabolic steroids - can cause acne by stimulating the sebaceous glands. Some cosmetics can make acne worse by clogging pores.

The visible symptoms are aesthetically very disturbing and therefore make life miserable for the wearer. It is a problem in establishing social relationships, even in employment. However, the biggest danger of acne is the formation of scars, from the point of view of prevention, the most important thing is for the patient to consult a specialist as soon as possible. Specialists recommend various exfoliating creams, short-term antibiotic drug treatment, taking hormonal birth control pills, or taking an effective, dosed capsule (vitamin A derivative) in addition to a detailed laboratory examination. Recently, various phototherapy and laser procedures have been gaining ground.
